Sunshine State road trip goes in half through Louisiana and later drives via Mississippi and Alabama to Florida. This is the road trip with relatively small mileage which leads through warm states of the south. Not so intense like the others, therefore you could really relax. Recommended time for this road trip is about 3 weeks during which you will travel ca. 1 600 miles. Day 1-2: New Orleans - The Big Easy
In terms of topography, architecture, people and music in New Orleans is like no other American city. Many subsequent residents, including indigenous Indian population, the French population of Creoles, Spanish colonists and African slaves created a rich mixture of people and cultures, which is characteristic of present-day New Orelans. Distinctive architecture of the city is the result of adapting to the European idea subtropical climate.

Day 3: Mississippi Plantation Tour
Be ready to see one of the greatest concentrations of antebellum homes which is located along River Road - the historical thoroughfare. At the time of its splendor along the road there were more than 2,000 plantations. The most popular are Oak Alley, Nottoway or Laura Plantation.

Day 4: Jean Lafitte NP - the swamp tour
'Discover New Orleans’ rich cultural mix. Learn Cajun traditions from people who live them. Watch an alligator bask on a bayou’s bank. Walk in the footsteps of the men who fought at 1815’s Battle of New Orleans. Follow the link to find out about the park’s six sites.'
Day 5-7: Panama City Beach
Enjoy the white sandy beaches in PCB area. After visiting and exploring Louisiana you deserve it! 
Day 8: Saint Augustine
The oldest and still inhabited European settlement in the United States. Saint Augustine joins XVIII century storey buildings with architectural gems from XIX century along with XX century tourist attractions.
Day 9: Daytona Beach
Another day of laziness on the one of the most famous beach - Daytona Beach
Day 10: Orlando's theme parks
Try one of Orlando's theme parks: Universal Studios/SeeWorld/Walt Disney World and feel like a kid again! The alternative is Kennedy Space Center. Or just do both of them.

Day 11-12: Back to the Gulf
Enjoy clean and peaceful city of Naples with its sandy beaches and molo settled in very picturesque area. 
Day 13: Everglades NP - The largest subtropical wilderness in the United States
'Everglades National Park protects an unparalleled landscape that provides important habitat for numerous rare and endangered species like the manatee,  American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther.'
Gulf of Mexico, Florida
Day 14-16: Key West & Dry Tortugas NP
Follow the Hemingway's paths by driving the unique highway 1 until the very end and see the Southermost Point from where there is only 90miles to Cuba. Another attraction is Dry Tortugas NP - 19th Century Fort and snorkel crystal clear water with incredible marine life. The 100-square mile park is mostly open water with seven small islands.  Accessible only by boat or seaplane, the park is known the world over as the home of magnificent Fort Jefferson, picturesque blue waters, superlative coral reefs and marine life,  and the vast assortment of bird life that frequent the area.

Day 17-18: Miami
The most exciting citi in Florida. While admiring glittered by neons the night panorama of South Beach, sagging under the warm breezes palm trees, it's hard to imagine a more beautiful place. Away from the tourists and beaches spring up the skyscrapers. Half of the 2 million residents are Latinos so do not be surprised hearing Spanish all around you. One of the mot popular turistic destinations awaits you. It lures by its watersports, wide beaches, fishing on the high seas, colorful nightlife and endless summer.
